Dr. Carrie York receives awards
Recently, Dr. Carrie K. York was named as one of "Seattle's Top Dentists" by Seattle Magazine, January, 2006.
Previously, Dr.
York, of Mercer Island, was honored with two dental
awards, during the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference in
Seattle in July 2002.
She received the "Outstanding Young Dentist Award"
from the American College of Dentists-Washington Section.
This award recognizes exceptional efforts "in promoting
excellence, ethics and professionalism in dentistry".
She was also selected for Fellowship into the Pierre Fauchard
Academy, an international honor dental organization. The organization
is limited by invitation to "ethical dentists who have
made a contribution to their profession and/or community with
potential for leadership."
Dr.
York was president of the Mercer Island Community Fund, has
served six years in the House of Delegates of the Washington
State Dental Association and taught part time in the department
of prosthodontics at the University of Washington Dental School.
She practices on Mercer Island.
She
was chairman of the 20th year reunion committee of Mercer
Island High School Class of 1982, and was a member of the choir
at Emmanuel Church, Mercer Island. She is a 1991 honors graduate
of the UW School of Dentistry.
She
and her husband, Mark Williams, have twins, Elisabeth and
Braden, 10, who attend Mercer Island Schools.
